The Tutored Course
This course is a mini online course run as an independent course from the others we offer here. It can be seen as a course to just test the waters with the Thoth deck or this medium of learning and also as a course that adds further knowledge and skills to the other courses if you have already completed them. We will be using the Gerd Zeigler book as the main reference book for the course - though we will not directly relate to it in the exercises. It is the GZ approach we work from.
The course will be held on our new forum as the others are, where you will work both as a group - learning from each others work as well as working with the tutors individually.
Dates
The first running of this course was very successful and so we will be offering this course regularly. The next course will start in in a couple of months. Please email me to apply for a place. It runs for 8 weeks covering 4 topics with breaks for any school holidays it crosses.
A new topic will be set every 2 weeks; the first week is for doing the exercises for that topic, the second week is for responding to tutors comments on your work and to allow you to read and become familiar with others' work, ask questions, and share comments and knowledge with other students. This enriches the experience for everyone.
Course Outline
- Week 1 + 2: Introduction and Timing
- Weeks 3 + 4: Analysing Dreams
- Weeks 5 + 6: Animal Symbolism .
- Weeks 7 + 8: Colour, feedback and goodbyes

Fees
£120 payable by cheque through PayPal or by cheque after being accepted on the course, payment in 2 installments can also be arranged - please enquire.
Course requirements are:
- Basic tarot knowledge, general meanings etc.
- Knowledge of spreads
- Know how to go about a reading, connecting the cards together
- Access to the internet and email regularly
- Prepared to look at yourself – psychologically probing course (though not a therapy group)
- Time for the exercises and to connect with the other members in the group. (estimate minimum 2 hours a week)
- A Thoth deck, any size
- The recommended book is Tarot: Mirror of the Soul by Gerd
Ziegler, though you may find the following books useful if you have
them:
- Keywords for the Crowley Tarot – Hajo Banzhaf and Brigitte Theler ,
- The Crowley Tarot – Akron and Hajo Banzhaf
- Tarot: Mirror of our Relationships – Gerd Ziegler
We are aware that the Ziegler books can be hard to get hold of. We recommend Amazon marketplace for used copies as a good source if you have trouble finding the Mirror of the Soul new. You can find it easily by going to my website 'recommended books' tarot section:
For your application write a short paragraph stating:
- Name, address, email address for the course
- How long you have been using the tarot
- What decks you have and use
- Where you feel you are in your personal psychological development
- Why you want to come on this course
- Whether your Thoth deck has 1 or 3 magus cards
Materials Only version of the Dip into the Thoth course
We will send you the materials for this course by post for you to work through in your own time.
As a reminder the course covers the following topics:
- Topic 1: Introduction and Colour
- Topic 2: Analysing Dreams
- Topic 3: Animal Symbolism .
- Topic 4: Timing, Goals and goodbyes
All based on working with the Thoth deck and using the Gerd Zeigler book as the book for you to refer to for this work. To be clear, there is no tutor input with this version of the course. However should you receive the course and decide you want to do the full 'Dip Into' course, we will give you a reduction on the cost of the course.
